a street scene in a townTromso was our next stop which we reached four o'clock on June 20th. The village is hardly more attractive than that of Hammerfest but the museum of arctic animals was very good and the harbour is charming, the inner harbour is surrounded by snow mountains & as the water is very still the reflections were nearly perfect. Of course the houses are as ugly as those of Hoboken & Weehawken & don't look thick enough or warm enough to withstand the north of bitterly cold weather. the harborThat night as we were going to bed the sun was the best we saw it during the whole trip. I sat at my port hole & photographed busily & got one really perfect Insignette of it. (This photo is on this page.) One appreciates anything beautiful in silence more than when surrounded by gabbling goats. And that is what our dear fellow passengers are! the sunset
