Lieut. David Phelps

b. Simsbury, Ct., 1710, m. Abigail Pettibone, 25 Apr., 1731. She was sister of Sarah Pettibone, wife of his brother Amos Phelps. For her family see "Brown's Genealogical Sketches of Canton." She, b. Canton, died in Simsbury, 1807. (After the death of Mr. Phelps she m. Dea. David Strong, of Bolton, Ct., By him she had no issue.)

Mr. Phelps settled in Simsbury, Ct., was made a Freeman in 1734, and represented his town in the General Assembly several times. He was a Lieut. in the Militia, and served in the French War. He died in Simsbury, 9 Dec., 1760, aged 50 years, after an illness of nineteen days, with the small-pox.
