Know all men by these presents that I Adam R. Alexander for diverse good causes and considerations have and by these presents do constitute nominate and appoint my friend George M. Egnew my true and lawful attorney for me and for my use to ask for and demand of the paymaster for West Tennessee all moneys due me for my services under the Command of Genl. Andrew Jackson on a Campaign against the Creek Indians to receive all such sums of money and give receipts grant releases and to do an perform all legal acts touching said matter by these presents ratifying and confirming whatever my said attorney shall in my name lawfully do in as full and ample a manner as if I myself personally done the same In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 25th day of March 1815 --

Know all men by these presents that I, Adam R. Alexander of Maury County and State of Tennessee to irrevocably nominate Geo. Shall my attorney for me and in my name, and for his own proper use to ask, demand, sue for, recover and recieve [sic] of Robert Searey or any other District Paymaster for the state of Tennessee, all such sum or sums of money, debts or demands whatsoever, which are now due and owing unto me the said Adam R. Alexander by and from the United States for my services in Captain as quarter Master in the Regt of companyTennessee Militia, Col McCrory, commanding, the term of           months, as per my Certificate of service herewith; -- And to have, to use, and take all lawful means in my name, or otherwise for the recovery thereof, and to give acquaintances or other sufficient discharges for the same, and to all acts relative to said discharge, that I would do provided I was personally present -- in witness whereof I have assigned my name and affixed my seal this fifth day of April, 1816.
